La Rambla de Figueres will host the Fòrum Gastronòmic Ciutat on the weekend of 5 and 6 October (from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.). The second edition of this Girona event will be held in the city of Figueres for the first time and will feature demonstrations, gastronomic sessions, tastings and debates with leading professionals. The event, organised by the Girona company Incatis with the collaboration of Figueres City Council, aims to bring gastronomy closer to the general public. Admission to the fair will be free.
After ten editions, the Girona Gastronomic Forum has established itself as the benchmark event for food and cooking professionals. It is aimed at a professional audience and is usually held at the Girona Trade Fair Centre and in the Devesa area. In 2023, the organisers added a second event, the Fòrum Gastronòmic Ciutat, which focuses on the general public and is held in a more popular format in the city centre. The first edition was successfully held in Plaça Catalunya in Girona and became a culinary hub where chefs, sommeliers, oenologists, producers and food companies were able to showcase the latest developments in the sector to food lovers.
The main objective of the City Gastronomic Forum is to educate the end consumer in aspects such as nutrition, sustainability, local produce, to vindicate the work of farmers, fishermen and other producers, to promote sustainable consumption and to disseminate new gastronomic trends.
The activities and the attendance of professionals at the City Gastronomic Forum in Figueres will be announced in September.
