Along with Mateu Casañas and Eduard Xatruch, Oriol Castro forms the trio of top chefs at the helm of the Gaudir restaurant in Barcelona and Compartir in Cadaqués. The three share a culinary vision and concerns, thanks to their time at elBulli, where they forged a friendship that led them to join forces. Born in 1974, Oriol Castro studied at the Joviat School and also took pastry courses at the School of Pastry of the Gremi de Barcelona. This pastry training is key to his creative process. After joining elBulli in 1997, he became the right-hand man of Ferran and Albert Adrià, helping create the innovative techniques that revolutionized the culinary world. A creative curiosity that remains very much alive today at Gaudir.
